Jay : Well Plan B is to just swing by the dealer and see if they can use the remote checker to see if the remote is bad or not. Got it in a 2 pack, and the other one worked on my TV remote, so it should be good.
It hasn't had any issues unlocking or starting the car and the buttons on the key fob itself work fine. So, something as simple as a temperature change can lead to a fob behavior change, FWIW. Some cars have push-button ignitions that only operate when the key fob is close by.

Place your key in the ignition and switch from the LOCK position to the ON position 6 times within 10 seconds ending with the key in the LOCK position If done correctly the indicators should flash 2 times 2. Press and hold the UNLOCK button black on P11 on your keyfob and while keeping it pressed then push the LOCK button Red on P11 3 times then release the UNLOCK button. I lubricated with WD-40 and using a small screw driver I moved the levers until they moved smoothly. Then activated the key fob switch and it started operating. If the solenoid doesn't work then there probably is an electrical problem. If it does, do you have another keyless entry key fob? If so does it work? If you just replaced the battery you can try removing battery and cleaning contacts within remote. I know some of the nissan altimas had the same issue and the only solution was a new key fob.
